The use of Reason and reasonable argumentation, the reclaiming of the idea of Progress and the struggle against dogma. In this post-modern world, reinventing Enlightenment is of the utmost importance.

Christian gals do it better...

But I don’t mean the tart in the photo, although she is quite popular (the most popular Portuguese character worldwide). I mean true Christian, young, un-married, hot gals. Gals that actually believe in God, the Holly Trinity, miracles and all the other rubbish.

How do I know truly hot Christian gals do it better? Well (I will not discuss my sex life here) it’s the SIN thing... Truly hot Christian gals believe that sex before marriage is a SINFUL activity. But SIN comes in with TEMPTATION.

So, when they finally cave in to TEMPTATION, (that is if you’re good enough persuading them) they will FUCK like if the DEVIL was in FULL possession of their hot wet bodies; they will drift into PERDITION and give you the best sex EVER!

PS - What about hot muslim gals?

I believe dear david is in want of sharing some recent hot experience with the blogging community.

Is it the spectre of "O crime to Padre Amaro"? The very explosive catholic logic of repression leading to depraved excess?

Still, isn't there still a certain despair despite the liberating moment? Repression and prejudice never leaves you so freely and spontaneously, it takes more.

Clearing up what I meant by this final point... Repression of all sorts, not least of the Freudian variety, is not a conscious thing, it goes under your skin, deeper than that. You may have moments of freedom, send church morality to hell and indulge in carnal pleasures, but you do find yourself respecting certain limits. Some things will always be dirty, disgusting, vile, in ways which do not appear moral, but they were burned into you by a moral education, at home, at school, in art, in culture.

One thinks of the great libertine, de Sade and there is not a grain of christian morality in him. The religious falling in sin, is all too often an act of exhaustion or despair, (s)he is too tired to holding back and throws himself to desire, but in so doing it's less than it could be, it's not truly free and mature.

That is one of great technologies of Catholicism, purchasing forgiveness, or else it would be terrible to deal with the guilt.

I have read it now.
I think the best bit is your final point, to one about how guilt makes you weaker. It is a sort of "blame the victim" type mechanism - there you are constrained, enslaved by dogma and prejudice and when you break free it falls upon you a torrent of blame, which you assign to yourself - you are the one at fault.

The funny thing is that the church doesn't really use it to control the masses. The Church uses it so that the masses control themselves. One polices itself.

I think it works well with the Catholic church where you can get absolved by confessing to a member of that church, thus placing the power of redeeming in the hand of the priests.

I agree with Cabral when he says "The funny thing is that the church doesn't really use it to control the masses. The Church uses it so that the masses control themselves. One polices itself." This is vital if u want to understand Christianity. Christians blind themselves volunteraly. Take the example of the Old Testament. It is in many ways a mad epic, full of hate and gruesome episodes. Nevertheless, only recently did Christians realize it. So what happens today is that have droped the Old Testament, and concentrate merely on the New. They blind themselves to all the shit in the Bible, it's Orwellian.
